Résumé : Dans un numéro récent (n° 83, 2005) de Lettera Internazionale,
édition italienne, nous avons dédié un dossier au problème de la
traduction. Ce n’était pas la première fois : déjà en 1992 nous avons eu
la nécessité de le faire. Une grande partie des textes que nous
publions n’est pas d’abord écrite en Italien, et a donc besoin d’une
traduction dans notre langue. Cela pose toujours un problème qui n’a pas
seulement à faire avec la théorie de la traduction - de l’art de la
traduction - mais surtout avec le problème de la communication : comment
transmettre un message qui correspond à une culture qui n’est pas la
nôtre, qui formule sa pensée d’une manière différente par rapport à
notre culture ?
Abstract : In a recent issue (n° 83, 2005) of Lettera Internazionale,
Italian publishing, a special report was dedicated to the issues of
translation. It was not the first time : already in 1992 we had to do
it. A large portion of the texts published in Lettera Internazionale are
not originally written in Italian and thus need to be translated into
our language. This, constantly poses a problem which has not only to do
with the theory of translation – the art of translation – but especially
with the problem of communication : how to transmit a message that
corresponds with a culture that is not our own, and which formulates its
thoughts differently in relation to our culture ?
