Language mixing in young multilingual children and its correlates: A systematic review

Dear colleagues,

We are conducting a systematic review of the literature on language mixing in early childhood. Our objective is to identify and assess relations between cognitive, linguistic, and social factors and language mixing by multilingual children aged 2-6 years, specifically in naturalistic settings. While we have performed a systematic search through several databases, we would like to hear from you regarding published and unpublished studies on this topic. If you would like your work on the above topic to be considered in our review, please email us at Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. The inclusion criteria for our systematic review are as follows: (1) The study must be in English and takes the form of a journal article, book chapter, thesis, or dissertation; (2) Participants should consist of multilingual children with typical (language) development aged between 2 and 6 years, allowing for a two-year margin (e.g., 1-2 years old or 5-8 years old); (3) The frequency of language mixing must be measured within a naturalistic mixing context (i.e., all contexts that assess longer stretches of discourse in which the child can freely choose what to say); and (4) Language mixing is assessed in relation to at least one cognitive, linguistic, or social factor.

Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out at Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.. Thank you very much for your support!
